Having made their back catalog available to a wider public via High Roller Records, Mexican speed and thrash metal force Phantom will release their third full-length assault “Not Midnight Yet“ via the label. Recorded and mixed once again with Héctor “Northen” Ibarra at Nehtron Studios in Guadalajara and mastered by Patrick W. Engel at Temple Of Disharmony in Germany, this new album captures the band at their most technical and dynamic.
“I am never fully satisfied with my records and I try to push forward and expand our boundaries with every new material—without changing the soul and core of what Phantom stands for: Old School Heavy Metal,“ explains mastermind J.C. García. “This record puts together very well everything that we are. Because of that, I think this is a juggernaut of an album.”
Frequent church organ passages add a distinctive, almost liturgical atmosphere to the band’s razor-edged speed metal. “We have a visual and musical identity related to vampires, horror, ancient folklore and dark fantasy,” J.C. explains. “These gothic and classic-sounding organs add a mystical and dark touch to the whole mix.”
Across the album, Phantom expand their instrumental scope with more elaborate lead guitar work and longer passages. “It’s a natural evolution of our sound. We’ve grown, improved and developed more technique and new ways of writing. I think it’s interesting for the audience to witness that progression.”
Tracks such as ‘Hordes Of Bats,’ ‘Out Of The Mausoleum’ and ‘Summoned To Kill’ deliver relentless speed and riff-driven aggression, while ‘Dracula’s Curse’ and the title track lean into powerful midtempo dynamics and complex structures. ‘The Pale Remains Of Time’ stands out as one of the album’s most ambitious moments, combining melodic vocals, clean guitar interludes and subtle progressive touches. “It’s meant to be a sad song,” J.C. reveals, “about not being able to get over the past, heartbreak and things that haunt me until this day.”
Conceptually, the album title carries multiple meanings. “It alludes to all the vampiric stuff we like, including games like ‘Castlevania’, but it also has a personal meaning—‘we’re not done yet,’ ‘it’s not the end yet.’ Most songs have double meanings. They seem to be about vampires and fantasy, but they’re also discreetly about personal struggles and situations from my life.”
‘Solomonari,’ inspired by Eastern European folklore, dives into occult themes of ancient sorcerers, while ‘Curse Your Name’ and the acoustic interlude ‘A Trail Full Of Sorrows’ add emotional depth before ‘Echoes From The Fights’ closes the album at full throttle. “I try to break the established formula and add more textures and layers while keeping the old school spirit,” J.C. states. “It’s a very personal record and a work I’m very proud of. I think this is the most solid Phantom record to date.”
With “Not Midnight Yet”, Phantom sharpen their identity and deliver a powerful, atmospheric statement—proof that the night is far from over.

2- Out of the Mausoleum
