Jawbreaker Records are proud to announce the upcoming release of speed metal band Meurtrier‘s debut full-length album Messe de Fer!

Forged in the shadows of Québec City in 2023, Meurtrier emerged from the ranks of seasoned veterans of the Québec and Montréal metal underground with one objective: to resurrect the fierce spirit of classic heavy and speed metal through a distinctly French-Canadian lens.

Drawing inspiration from the savage energy of mid-’80s European and American metal, Meurtrier delivers a dark and relentless assault of razor-sharp riffs, pounding rhythms, and haunting melodies, all carried by French-language lyrics steeped in occult mysticism and epic grandeur. Their sound blends the raw aggression of speed metal with the atmosphere and weight of traditional heavy metal, creating a universe both menacing and triumphant.

Following the release of their first demo in 2024 through Jawbreaker Records, the band returns in 2026 with a renewed lineup and visual signature as well as their debut full-length album, Messe de Fer (French for Iron Mass). The current incarnation of Meurtrier features Will Verrault and Martin Paquet on guitars, Tony Verrault on vocals, Jeff Tremblay on bass, and Randy behind the drums — a five-piece force driven by passion, intensity, and unwavering devotion to the steel of a bygone era.

Despite only a handful of live appearances so far, Meurtrier has already earned a reputation for high-energy performances fueled by the relentless momentum of their songs and the commanding charisma of frontman Tony Verrault. On stage, the band channels pure metallic ferocity, leaving audiences caught between darkness, speed, and fire.

With their debut album looming on the horizon, Meurtrier stands ready to carve its name into the global new wave of true heavy metal!
