The veteran Spanish Power/Heavy/Thrash Metal band IN VAIN has just announced all the details of their upcoming 7th full-length album, entitled “Architects of Mayhem”. As a first taste, you can already listen to “Spit on the Dead”, a true incendiary Heavy Metal cannon shot, packed with power, melody and aggression, with the Power and Thrash touches that have become the band’s trademark.
Along with the single, the cover artwork and complete tracklist are now available for an album that promises to take IN VAIN’s intensity one step further. “Architects of Mayhem” will be released on CD and Digital once again through Fighter Records on November 5th.

Formed in 2004 in Madrid, IN VAIN have established themselves as one of the most prominent bands on the Spanish Heavy Metal scene, developing their own distinctive style over more than two decades, based on a combination of Speed and Thrash Metal, with strong doses of classic Power Metal and epic melodies. After their early demos, the band released their debut album, “Of Gods and Men”, in 2009, already displaying a strong personality by blending classic Heavy Metal with ’90s Power Metal and melodic Thrash Metal in the vein of MEGADETH. Their second album, “In Death We Trust”, followed in 2012, featuring a more aggressive sound that earned them significant recognition both nationally and internationally.
With “The Little Things That Matter” (2014), IN VAIN further developed their more aggressive side, combining Speed and Thrash Metal with the epic and melodic choruses of classic Power Metal. Their fourth album, “IV” (2017), marked another step forward, merging aggression, technicality and melody to fully consolidate their distinctive sound. During these years, the band performed at festivals such as Euskal Metal, Metal Fox, Jaén Metal, Gineta Rock and Bodega Rock, as well as sharing the stage with bands such as S.A., BRAINSTORM, VHALDEMAR and RAM.
Following the unavoidable delay caused by the pandemic, they released “All Hope Is Gone” in 2021, considered one of their most mature works both musically and lyrically. In 2024, with Julio Abadía on guitar and Manel Avrillón on bass, IN VAIN released “Back to Nowhere” through Fighter Records, achieving considerable success. Throughout 2024 and 2025, the band focused on bringing the album to the stage while working on their 7th studio album, “Architects of Mayhem”, recorded during the first half of 2026 and scheduled for release, once again through Fighter Records, in November 2026.
