Azrael are an Italian heavy metal band, originally formed in late 1988 in Rapallo (Liguria), when Alessandro “Ale” Arbocò left a note in the record shops between Genoa and Recco, looking for musicians on the same wavelength. What followed was a run of classic metal, shared stages and pure DIY spirit across the early ’90s, splitting the setlist between original material and covers of Iron Maiden, Metallica and Crimson Glory.

The band went into hibernation in 1994. They are now back, with founding guitarist Andy Lijoi anchoring a renewed line-up, releasing their debut EP Clockwork Abyss – written, recorded, mixed and mastered entirely by the band.
