Matt Hanchuck comments:
“Killing The Children is the first single off of our new album Remnants Of Pain and we feel that this song, best represents what to expect from this band….in your face riffs…pummeling drums…and a singer with the ability to tear your heart out during the verses and caress your soul during the chorus….” Listen to the single on:

Wreck-Defy was formed in 2016 by Matt Hanchuck who had compiled a plethora of songs from years of playing in various garage/bar bands Matt was hugely influenced by the burgeoning bay area thrash metal movement from the 1980s . Matt reached out to his good friend and former band member Justin Steer from Winnipeg to do all the vocals on the debut album Fragments of Anger which was released on October 18th independently and then later on by Alone Records in Greece During the recording process Matt was able to acquire the services of Glen Drover from Megadeth to mix and master the album….this lead to Glen’s brother Shawn Drover from Megadeth as well to play all of the drum tracks on the debut album… Once work commenced on the next album…Justin bowed out…but Matt soldiered on and decided to ask former Annihilator front man Aaron Randall to sing for the band…after listening to the debut…Aaron agreed to join the band and so the next writing sessions began Wreck-Defy elected to better the production quality this time around and we’re fortunate enough to hire Juan Urteaga who has produced Testament Machine Head Heathen Vicious rumors etc etc to mix and master the new Wreck-Defy album. During this time…Matt was able to get Greg Christian from Testament to join Wreck-Defy and play all the bass lines on the new album Drums were handled by studio session drummer Dave O’Neal from the band Angerhead. But moving forward…the band has since recruited legendary thrash metal drummer Alex Marquez from Demolition Hammer and Solstice And Malevolent Creation for all live shows/future recordings…. Now…we await the chance to bring the band to Europe and spread the word |
