‘Shangri-La’ is the title track from Thieves of Liberty’s hotly anticipated debut full-length album which lands on 15 November. It perfectly encapsulates the band’s modern rock sound with a bluesy edge and is packed with the energy that has seen fans from all over the UK fall in love with their live shows. Soaring vocals, catchy choruses, driving rhythms and rippin’ solos, it has a bit of everything the Sunderland rockers excel at.

Guitarist Kieran Wilson said this about the track:

“Shangri-La is one of those songs where we knew straight away that we’d struck gold. The writing process was quick and organic which is normally a good sign for us when putting together a song… when it starts to feel like we’re forcing a composition it ends up losing the magic. It immediately captured all the elements that make us shine and this really translated in a live capacity too, we already have fans singing along before we’ve even released it!”

Frontman James Boak added:

“From a lyrical standpoint, I wanted to blur the line between reality and fantasy. It’s a tale of longing for a dream and the realisation that everything is not always as it seems once you reach your destination. That’s something which became somewhat of a theme throughout the album, hence why we made this the title track.”

The full-length album is Thieves of Liberty’s best work to date by some distance. The collection of songs is incredibly diverse and yet the quality is consistent; you’ll be dancing, singing, crying and head banging as you take the journey to Shangri-La. This will undoubtedly cement the band’s transition from rising stars to established industry titans.
