REVIEW BY – JOHN ERIGO
THE THREE TREMORS is a unique band concept based on the Opera act “The Three Tenors”, except these guys aren’t tenors and there’s no opera in sight! This is a very heavy album and if you like high-pitched metal vocals, you MUST have this album!
The band features 3 metal vocalists. The most well-known being Tim “Ripper” Owens, because of his stint with JUDAS PRIEST. Since being on the metal scene , Owens hasn’t slowed down and has many projects and bands going on, he is one busy metal maniac!!! The other 2 TREMORS are SEAN PECK, who has been in the bands CAGE and DEATH DEALER. The 3rd TREMOR is HARRY CONKLIN who is best known for his vocal efforts for JAG PANZER, also TITAN’S FORCE and SATAN’S HOST. So in case you’re wondering the songs on this album are HEAVY, I mean really heavy – there are tons of double bass drums blaring and guitar riffs and solos ringing all over the place. The unique thing is, as expected, the vocals. You never really know which Tremor is coming at you, they change it up and it keeps the listener on their toes.
Unlike a lot of newer bands, there’s a lot, more like a ton, of harmonizing. With 3 very technically skilled vocalists it creates a really cool mood where whether it’s 2 or all 3 of the singers singing, you get a ton of different sounds from the vocals which is really unique. I keep using the word “unique” because it really is just that. The Three Tremors concept works because it’s fresh and different. I find that a lot of bands with singers that have a higher pitched voice can get boring and monotonous with the same voice just screeching over and over. You can have a great voice, but be a bad singer(remember that you heard that here first! LOL!). A high note is nothing special if that’s ALL you do. There’s some really well executed vocals on this album and oh yeah, they have a KILLER band behind them as well!!!!
So my metal friends, even if you don’t know these guys(but most of you probably do), you need to check this album out!!!! It is heavy, no filler, it’s all systems go! Well executed song writing mixed with great musicianship and insane vocal acrobatics from all 3 of the The Three Tremors!!! The band is currently on tour too, so catch them when they come by your town!!! Here are the tour dates –
