  REVIEWED BY – JOHN ERIGOThe term “supergroup”  gets thrown around a lot these days. I mean Hell, I am sure most of you remember that failed TV show of that same name where they just took some super talented people and threw together expecting greatness. While I have to admit it was fun to watch, the end result was pretty much a train wreck. Just because people can play, sing and write great songs doesn’t always mean that if you bring them together, they will produce greatness. Well I am here to tell you that THE DEAD DAISIES are a supergroup and God damn it works, and it is quite awesome! If you look at the list of the bands and musicians these guys have been associated with, it reads like concert line up of one of those all weekend mega-Concerts they throw in Europe! LOL! I mean Dio, Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy, Motley Crue, Journey, etc etc. It’s pretty impressive. It’s also impressive these guys find the time to get together and make music, they all have busy schedules but when you hear the end results, you know it is all worth it. BURN IT DOWN is their 4th studio album(they also have one live album that was released in 2017)and to me, their best yet. This album is filled with great catchy choruses and rousing guitar fireworks from long time pro shredder DOUG ALDRICH. This album also marks the debut of their new drummer DEEN CASTRONOVO who had a long stint pounding the drums for JOURNEY. Deen is also an excellent vocalist, so he adds another dimension to the backing vox. Bass player Marco Mendoza is always so solid and it a super fun guy to watch during live gigs, lots of energy! I will be honest I don’t know much about David Lowy but he is a founding member of this band and he holds things down on rhythm guitar, a solid pro! Last but not least, well traveled vocalist, and my favorite Motley Crue singer ever, Mister John Corabi gives the band the voice and feel it so needs to be even better that you’d expect!

  Now, on to the album at hand here. BURN IT DOWN is a great collection of hard rock magic that will leave you wanting more from these guys. Songs like RESURRECTED, RISE UP, JUDGEMENT DAY, are just chock full of rock n roll snarl! These guys provide some great kick ass moments on this album, including my personal fave DEAD AND GONE. I am a real sucker for a stop n go riff, plus there’s a breakdown riff section in the middle of the song that reminds me of the KISS song WAR MACHINE!!!

  Songs like CAN’T TAKE IT WITH YOU and the bluesy and ballady SET ME FREE show Corabi displaying a certain Tyler-esque style and sound that fits just perfectly! LEAVE ME ALONE closes the album with a chugging, steam roller riff that crushes!! This is Hard Rock 101 served up by a bunch of professionals, kids – don’t try this at home! I’m hoping that there’s plenty more music in the future from THE DEAD DAISIES!!!!!
