“Woke up with my boots still on
Saw the cruel sunshine and that she was gone, It was a long night
It was a long night
Took a sip and I burnt my tongue
Scanned the dial there’s nothing but EDM on the radio
On the radio
With my back to the wall, I feel a smile coming on”

Arizona-based trio THE BLACK MOODS are a “straight up, loud and proud rock and roll band” as noted by Houston Press (4/17/19) who deliver a fresh take on ageless guitar-driven rock & roll on their sophomore album SUNSHINE due May 8 via Steelhorse Entertainment. The band have released a new anthemic track “Throwing Shade” across all digital platforms today, March 20, which follows three previously shared singles all of which debuted in the Mainstream Rock charts including “Bella Donna” and “Whatcha Got” in the Top 40 and “Bad News” in the Top 30.

SUNSHINE was recorded with Grammy Award-winning producer Johnny Karkazis and features eight tracks filled with electric guitar, percussive stomp, and anthemic hooks. Karkazis travelled to THE BLACK MOODS‘ Phoenix rehearsal space to set up a makeshift studio in order to capture the spirit of their zealous live show which Arizona Republic lauds as “the very definition of ‘swagger’.” (4/20/2016)
Following the release of their 2016 debut album Medicine (Another Century), THE BLACK MOODS won over fans across the U.S. with relentless touring alongside acts including Doors‘ Robbie Krieger, Shinedown, Jane’s Addiction, Whitesnake, Adelitas Way, Otherwise and many more. The band were scheduled to be on tour this Spring with Otherwise, but due to the spread of coronavirus all dates have been postponed. Their next scheduled appearance will be at Epicenter Festival in May, unless otherwise noted.
