Finally, new music from Sweeping Death! “Devotion to the Absurd Night” is their fourth release and second full-length album. After the release of the “Tristesse” EP in 2021, it quickly became clear that the next release had to be a full-length album. They deliberately took their time, collected ideas over the past few years, and created a coherent body of work.

The album comprises 10 tracks that explore the most diverse facets of human existence. In typical Sweeping Death style, philosophical concepts such as Albert Camus’ “The Myth of Sisyphus” are interwoven with personal experiences from recent years – from depression and panic attacks to overcoming them and the resulting new perspective on life. Without pointing the finger, Sweeping Death present an authentic musical work that combines a wide variety of influences. The central message is clear: Through devotion, we can overcome every peak. Musically, Sweeping Death combines an homage to the great masters of old with the courage to tread new paths. For the first time, black metal influences run consistently throughout the entire album. Thus, “Devotion To The Absurd Night” is an independent work that is influenced by both the first EP “Astoria” and the last album “In Lucid” – a logical development of “Tristesse”, but at the same time the beginning of a new chapter in the band’s history: darker, more stringent, more profound.

The impressive artwork was created by Travis Smith, who has previously created visual masterpieces for bands like Opeth and Death. It perfectly reflects the concept of the absurd andvisually showcases the musical vision of “Devotion to the Absurd Night.”
