Barely 17 months after the release of the critically acclaimed debut album Ström, it’s time for album number two “En Orkan På Vår Sida“.
Ström is a brilliant mix of good classic hard rock and rock n roll. Musically, you can of course pull the AC/DC card, but with the band name STRÖM, anyone understands that the loving reference is completely intentional.
It is close at hand to name-drop other similes if you feel like it, such as eighties-Kiss, early The Darkness, Airbourne, Hardcore Superstar, Guns ‘n’ Roses and Bon Jovi when they were still good, Backyard Babies, Sator, Dundertåget, yes, you understand. Someone said the vocals sounds like a young Roffe Wikström, another thought there are similarities with seventies-Magnus Uggla, Wilmer X, Noice and Hoola Bandoola Band.
But ultimately and best of all, STRÖM doesn’t sound like any of these, rather like all of them at the same time. And the vocals are sung with Smålandish dialect, with lyrics that feel real, both in a light-hearted sense and in a more serious context.
On the new record, Ström has further developed their own, raw Smålandish sound to perfection. With the single (and also the title track of the upcoming album) “En Orkan På Vår Sida” which is released today, Ström turns their amps up to eleven, The band has found its wayward, raw Småland sound here. You can call it arena rock, but with a big, burning heart

“En Orkan På Vår Sida” has just like their previous album been mixed/mastered and co-produced by Johan Forsman Löwenström for that Electric Ström sound.
Since the start in 2019, Ström has played more than 100 gigs, including a packed Sweden Rock Festival in front of 5000 people, to play at all the major rock festivals in Sweden.
In addition to their own sold-out concerts, they have played in arenas as support act to bands such as HammerFall and Royal Republic, and also played live on TV and Radio during the charity broadcast Musikhjälpen.
In February 2024, they embark on a long Swedish tour as a support for Thundermother.
Ström is Zdravko Zizmond (Vocals) Johan Siljedahl (Guitar) Calle Sjöqvist (Guitar) Tomas Salonen (Drums)
