STINGER (Hard Rock – Germany) – Will release the album “Expect The Unexpected” via ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records on May 13, 2022 #Stinger

The award-winning German band STINGER is a five piece outfit hailing from the town of Allersberg.  Introducing, head of the band and rhythm guitarist Matthew Sting with Martin “Schaffi” Schaffrath on lead vocals.  The youngest member of the band, Adrian Seidel on lead guitar and Sammy Sin rules on drums.  Bassist Simon Simon, not only masters his bass excellently, but is also the band’s technical guru, finding solutions to every technical challenge that arises. Founded in 2016, Stinger have brought top class reinforcements on board for the first EP “MOSQUITO” and LP “DISADVANTAGED”.  Three former members of AC/DC, musicians from ROSE TATTOO, as well as DORO and DIO, were chosen for their recordings. Stinger has already racked up some impressive accolades.  Their silver disc was awarded  “HARDROCK ALBUM OF THE YEAR 2017” at the GERMAN ROCK AND POP AWARDS with proceeds being donated to a parents’ initiative for children with cancer in Germany.  The band went on to win the GERMAN ROCK AND POP AWARD for their album “COLOURBLIND” for “BEST HARD ROCK ALBUM 2019”.  They did it again with the prestigious title of “BEST GERMAN HARD ROCK BAND 2019”. In the early days the band were clearly orientated towards the sound of the Australian greats, but the guys around Matthew Sting are now treading a wonderfully refreshing path  in relation to the songwriting, melodies and especially the sound with the release of “EXPECT THE UNEXPECTED”.  In the meantime, the influences of well-known bands are spread so wide that is no longer feasible to compare STINGER with one or two bands.  It feels like the five hard rockers from Allersberg have found their very own major sound.  There is no denying that STINGER stand for honest, down to earth rock. As a highlight STINGER present Billy Sheehan of MR BIG, DAVID LEE ROTH and THE WINERY DOG fame, who is a real genius on the bass and who has immortalized himself on the song “CHASING UTOPIA”. This alone gives this album the appreciation it deserves, when musicians immortalize themselves on the albums of fellow musicians and bands. A piece of rock history is being written here.  Stories of life are skillfully put into text form with added melody.  The music is high energy and technically loaded, with every individual instrument competently staged but coming together in one powerful unit.
