- • Welcome guys! How things are going about Sonic Blast?
Sonic Blast: Greetings! Thank you for having us here! We truly appreciate that we have been given the opportunity to get in touch with the Metal and Rock community in the United States. Based on the feedback and support we have received ever since we have released our single track, we firmly believe that we are off to a good start. We are pleased for making such a good impact and one of our main objective is to produce music of decent quality.
- Are you satisfied about the feedback for your new single “Quest For Camelot”?
Sonic Blast: Definitely! Since the release of our single track, the majority of the feedback that we have received until now, has been positive. This is just a taste of what is yet to come. Before anyone else, we have set the bar up high on ourselves and we will keep working hard in order to meet the expectations of our fans.
- After releasing your first single you show that you are a really promising metal band!. Are there any plans for a full album in the near future?
Sonic Blast: Thank you for these kind remarks, we are glad to hear that we have the potential to make a difference. There are several artists that may believe Metal is oversaturated. Over the years, many artists strive to invent and incorporate various music elements which may have a positive appeal to the metal scene. In contrast to other bands, we intend to preserve the legacy of what we perceive as quality Heavy Metal. Regarding our future plans, our first full album is currently in the last phase of production. “Humanity Divided” will have ten tracks, two of which will be instrumental.
4) How can you describe your sound?
Sonic Blast: The best description of the band’s character and sound would be the representation of Heavy Metal and particularly during the 80’s & 90’s. This is the time period that we predominantly interpret as the decades of quality music.
5) What are your musical idols?
Sonic Blast: Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Ozzy Osbourne, Helloween – especially with Michael Kiske as their vocalist.
6) Tell us a few words and special moments about the recordings of your stuff.
Sonic Blast: Recording an album encompasses mixed feelings. During the recording of our album we have experienced several hardships and a few cases of miscommunication, which we overcame due to common values and objectives that our members share with each other. We definitely had fun moments but a vivid memory that has been imprinted on our minds was the feeling of immense satisfaction after a long day of studio recording session. If we had to pick one special moment, that would be when we had to brainstorm together with the Studio owner and come up with an unorthodox special music effect. Unfortunately, at this moment, we cannot disclose additional information, however, the abovementioned music effect has been incorporated in the album’s last track.
7) What is your opinion about the use of internet? Is this helpful about the bands or they are just being lost into a sea of information?
Sonic Blast: The current use of internet and contemporary technological progression has given access to much more people that want to listen to music, in comparison with a few decades ago. Probably the greatest thing regarding the Internet is that it provides immediate access to quality music to fans from all over the world with little cost and it does not discriminate. Since the number of users is ever-increasing, we have also witnessed an inevitable increase of “noise”. This does not have to necessarily be interpreted as something wrong, since a wide range of content is generated, thus, the music preferences of each person are accommodated in a better way.
8) Any live plans for the band?
Sonic Blast: As we are all aware, COVID-19 has a multidimensional negative impact on our daily lives. We genuinely wish to express our condolences to people that have lost their family members, friends and loved ones during this pandemic. This is certainly not the proper period to be discussing about live performances or concerts. Beating this pandemic is and should be a priority. We hope that everyone stays safe and healthy until we reclaim our normal daily lives.
9) What is your biggest dream about Sonic Blast?
Sonic Blast: The use of the word “dream” is quite interesting. To be completely honest, we tend to have a realistic mindset which prevents us from dreaming. Instead, we set objectives and work hard in order to achieve our goals. We interpret our career progression as a unique music journey which is fuel by the constant love and support of our fans and the heavy metal music community. We expect to become contemporary representatives that embody genuine, high quality heavy metal.
10) How did you get started with music? Any special musical studies?
Sonic Blast: Several members had been taught by private tutors while others are entirely self-taught. The core elements which have highly contributed to our professional growth are constant hard work, determination, a mutual love for music, common objectives and values.
11) What do you think about the Greek rock and metal scene? Are there any new bands that you love?
Sonic Blast: Unfortunately, despite the fact that there is a decent level of quality regarding rock and heavy metal in Greece, these genres are occasionally underrepresented and neglected. From our point of view, the most representative domestic heavy metal bands are: Firewind, Wardrum, Sorrows Path, Beast in Black, Innerwish, Silent Winter, Crystal Tears and Sense of Fear.
12) Congrats and good luck about your work, guys! The last words are yours.
Sonic Blast: We would like to express our gratitude for this awesome opportunity that has been provided, we would like to sincerely thank our fans that constantly support us and we would also like to thank our partners: Angels PR Music Promotion, Binaural Feeling Recording Studio (Kozani, Greece) and everyone contributes, allowing us to reach our objectives. Concluding, hope that we all stay safe, healthy and tuned!
