I will always be an advocate of the belief that is not about how along an album is, but about how much musical information is offered to the audience. And the Show Your Face do an incredible job releasing an album that feels complete, although it lasts 23 minutes.

They have produced and unleashed – for I consider unleashed the only proper word- a record with zero fillers, with seven songs of unparalleled heaviness and power. Show Your Face deliver an elegant yet raw and explosive extreme metal sound that is simply captivating.

Opening with the song “Forever Bleed” (see the video above), Show Your Face unleash a thunderous and jaw dropping deathcore sound, filled with blast beats and aggressive riffs, but with melodic lines as well, that contrast the heaviness and remind of bands like the Heaven Shall Burn and their melodic deathcore sound. With a deathcore foundation placed and set, the Show Your Face unravel intriguing influences drawn from different genres and bands.

Two such tracks are the “The Descent” and “Left Behind”. Though clearly deathcore and defined by the distinct features of the genre, these two tracks brought to my mind and reminded me slightly of the Anaal Nathrakh and their explosive, industrialized extreme metal. Particularly, the “Left Behind” has some straightforward death metal influences blend to its musical structure that not only add an extra layer of heaviness, but a strong sense of aggressive grooves as well.

Just before the end of the record, the Show Your Face unleash what I believe is the best track of the album, the “Out of Reach”. With distinct death metal flavoring, the “Out of Reach” stands out thanks to its Grindcore influenced texture of the guitar riffs, which offer a sharp edge to the track and to the whole aesthetic album, as well.

Topping all the aforementioned with a stunning and solid production that carries through the weight of the compositions and delivers a punchy and clear sound, the “The Definer” is an underground deathcore work from Greece that you must absolutely need to check out.
