Sebia – “Acceptance of Reality”

Sebia’s debut album is a masterful presentation of artistry that leaves a lasting impact. The blend of potent instrumentation, evocative melodies, and thought-provoking themes draws the audience into the core of Sebia’s musical essence. “Acceptance Of Reality,” defies the constraints of a single genre, showcasing an extraordinary level of maturity and skill. However, the album takes an unexpected turn in the third and fourth track, “Shipwreck” and “Beyond This World”.  Sebia venture into a more progressive rock mood drawing parallels to bands like Porcupine Tree and featuring riffs reminiscent of Opeth’s “Damnation” era, evoking the emotional essence of songs like the “Windowpane” and “Burden. The mesmerizing “Ship Lost Through Time” captures the attention with its emotional and melancholic first half, transitioning into a sharp-edged, epic heavy metal piece with an electrifying outro.

The album closes and sums up with the great “Acceptance of Reality”. Since no grunge inspired riffs were featured so far, Sebia decide to mix things up a little bit more in their closing musical statement. With a first half dictated by grunge influences reminding of bands like the Soundgarden, Sebia change the pace halfway through closing the album and the record with some killer heavy/progressive metal ideas.

“Acceptance of Reality” is a masterclass in diversity. Sebia’s debut album is a testament to their artistic prowess, pushing boundaries and defying expectations. They fearlessly amalgamate various musical influences to create a captivating and unforgettable experience for their listeners.
