All I can say is WOW! What a great debut album we have here, a real treat for fans of the old school style of Heavy Metal. The band ROADWOLF who hail from Austria, have put together an album that would’ve felt right at home in the early 1980’s alongside bands like Judas Priest, Saxon, Accept and Motorhead. The influences are loud n clear and harken back to before metal became watered down and mainstream.
The album opens with the tune “All Hell Is Breaking Loose” and right away, you know what you’re in for! Roadwolf is not fucking around, this is serious face slamming metal! This is the kind of opening track that pulls you in and wanting more. There’s not much to say other than this Heavy Metal and if you’re a headbanger you will most likely enjoy this tune & album!
What heavy metal album wouldn’t be complete without a “fast car song”? LOL! “Wheels of Fire” has Saxon influence written all over it and that is a great thing! Some other really cool tunes on this album are “M.I.A. (Missing In Action)”, “Unchain The Wolf”, “Road Wolf” and “Condemned To Rock”.
So if you long for the days when metal was just metal, you will love this album! Roadwolf has tapped into the NWOTHM (New Wave Of Traditional Heavy Metal) and kept it fresh. I noticed a lot of newer bands try to produce their albums to sound like they were recorded in the early 80’s on a low budget, but Roadwolf has an old school writing style with fresh production, the album sounds great! I am looking forward to a long and bright Metal future for this band, long live Roadwolf!!!!
