PRIMAL FEAR (Heavy Metal Icons! – Germany 🇩🇪) – ALBUM REVIEW of their new album “Domination” which is out NOW via Reigning Phoenix Music #primalfear #heavymetal
Album review by JOHN ERIGO/KICKASS FOREVER
Before I get into the album – MAT SINNER – I am not sure if everyone knows about your recent health struggles. Over 2 years of recovering from an adverse reaction to a covid vaccine injection. I am sure the metal world is with me when I say God bless you, we all hope you keep getting stronger on your road to recovery. Glad to see up n rockin’ with the band!!!
OK, so – PRIMAL FEAR!!!! I am not really sure what I, or any metal fan, can say about this band that hasn’t been said already!!! One of the most consistent Power Metal bands there has ever been, so the title to their newest album “DOMINATION” is quite fitting. This is the 13th album the band has released and in this case, 13 is a lucky number……lucky for us metalheads!!! As you can see and hear from the videos below that the band released before the album, all emotions are hit.
You’ll get bludgeoned by “The Hunter”, “Scream” , “Crossfire”and “Destroyer”, and then you have your breath taken away by Vocalist RALF SCHEEPERS in the songs “FAR AWAY” &”EDEN”. A master craftsman Ralf is the ultimate power metal vocalist.
All emotional levels are hit and the band is in prime form.
There has been some changes to the band line up too. Long-time guitarist Magnus Karlsson recently returned to the band. Also the band added new members – Thalìa Bellezecca: joined as the new guitarist and AndrĂ© Hilgers: became the new drummer. You would think with 3/5ths of the line up changing, so would the sound but NO!!!! Ralf and Mat have made it a mission to make the band stronger and better. Give a listen because they did a great job!! DOMINATION is a must have for metal fans worldwide – get it and turn it up!!!

About PRIMAL FEAR
Going strong for nearly three decades, the band founded and still led by Mat Sinner (bass, vocals) and Ralf Scheepers (vocals) have never let down their global fanbase. Relentless and constantly pushing their limits, PRIMAL FEAR ensure that no two albums ever sound the same. After Code Red [2023] hit some of the highest chart positions of their career, expectations for the next release were higher than ever. Now joined by gifted guitarist Thalìa Bellazecca and former touring drummer AndrĂ© Hilgers, the quintet were more than up for the challenge. And as “Domination” makes clear, no obstacle is too great for PRIMAL FEAR’s powerhouse songwriting trio – Sinner, Scheepers, and guitarist Magnus Karlsson, who also rejoins the band’s live line-up after several years away.
From the hard-hitting opener “The Hunter” and first single “Far Away,” to the uplifting mid-tempo anthem “Tears Of Fire” and the epic ballad “Eden” – featuring a surprise guest appearance by AD INFINITUM’s Melissa Bonny – Domination delivers on all fronts. Add in neck-breakers like “Scream” and “Crossfire,” and the reflective, string-and-piano-driven closer “A Tune I Won’t Forget,” and it’s clear: PRIMAL FEAR aren’t here to reclaim the crown – they’re here to prove they’ve never left the throne of heavy/power metal royalty.

PRIMAL FEAR are:
Ralf Scheepers | vocals
Mat Sinner | bass, vocals
Magnus Karlsson | guitars
Thalìa Bellazecca | guitars
André Hilgers | drums
