Our Story
NoCebo is a hard rock group formed in 2014, where members have varied musical backgrounds.
The band was started by Melle (guitar, song) and Stefan Johansson (guitar) and it was first conceived as a studio project. In 2017, the debut “I Am” was released digitally and which received a very warm reception and many kind words. The adrenaline from the release caused the work on new material to take off, and the sequel would be coming soon ..
2018 in late summer was released “Do you remember?” Both digitally and physically, consisting of 6 songs, which would prove to have good impact and that eat into the skin of the listeners. The record is played on radio all over the world even though the lyrics are only in Swedish and the band has become something of a “snack ice” among people.
After the second album release, you realize that NoCebo deserves more and now the “project” takes the stage to develop into a regular band when recruiting Robban Möller (bass) and Nicke Olsson (drums). The tape is complete and NoCebo is ready for the scenes! Today there have been a number of gigs that have received very good response both in terms of number of visitors but also what experience it has given listeners. In September 2019 the band made the decision to break the collaboration with Nicke Olsson and he was replaced by Daniel Larsson.
2019 is predicted by many as the real breakthrough year when you already have several gigs booked and constantly new material in progress.
From a purely musical point of view, it is difficult to place NoCebo in any “compartment” as the influences are wide and you are not afraid to mix music styles crosswise. The songs have thought-provoking lyrics in Swedish that are derived from personal life experiences. The name “Nocebo” – when reality becomes as negative as you expected – the members have chosen to reflect the message that the music and lyrics want to convey …
One thing is for sure, NoCebo is here to stay!
