NEMESIS HP- (Hard Rock – France) – Their album “Lion” is out now #nemesishp

 

Bombastic hard rock band NEMESIS HP was founded by Yannis Geenens (guitar/ vocals, ex-Black Juju Inc., ex-Reign Of Night) in Lille in 2020 . His brother Liam (also Sharx vocalist) soon joined the ranks on guitar followed by Axel Meuriche (ex-Reign Of Night) on bass, and Lucas Richard on drums.

Youthful, passionate, raw in its delivery yet subtly crafted, NEMESIS HP debut album entitled ‘Lion’ displays a heavy dose of malevolent 80s fun. Somewhat sleazy in its festive body, ‘Lion’ put forward some muscular arrangements coupled with solid hooks and inexhaustible energy.

Quite unexpectedly, the album was written and recorded by Yannis Geenens out of boredom during 2020 French confinement period as Yannis comments : “We were all in a disheartening place, things were looking bleak and writing, recording this cheerful album helped me go through this period of time. The band name refers to Greek Mythology remorseless goddess Nemesis and initials H.P. stand for ‘Heavenly Punishment’. ” Out of such an obscure landscape, positive punch, addictive chuggy riffing, catchy choruses admittedly gloriously vindicated !.

Legendary ex WASP guitar player Chris Holmes even decided to jump in for a solo on “Wait No More” track. ‘Lion’ artwork was done by Stan W Decker (Blue Öyster Cult, Megadeth, Ross The Boss, Powerwolf, Primal Fear…). The album was also mixed by Yannis Geenens and mastered by Yoan D’Ray
