Today, the new thrash metal supergroup NEFARIOUS — featuring Katon De Pena, Rick Hunolt, Doug Piercy, Tom Gears, and Will “Beastman” Carroll — is excited to unleash the title track from their upcoming debut album, ‘Addicted To Power,’ out on July 18th. The title track comes accompanied by a live music video, available to view below.
A ferocious anthem for the disillusioned and the defiant, “Addicted to Power” delivers razor-sharp riffs, breakneck rhythms, and politically charged lyrics that cut straight to the bone. With legendary thrash titans Rick Hunolt (ex-Exodus) and Doug Piercy (ex-Heathen) unleashing guitar fury, Katon De Pena on vocals, secret weapon Tom Gears on bass, and Will “Beastman” Carroll on the skin, NEFARIOUS blends classic old school thrash intensity with a sophisticated edge.
The accompanying music video is a raw performance piece filmed at Soundwave Studio in Oakland, CA. The video captures the pure essence of NEFARIOUS: unapologetic, unrelenting, and razor-focused on truth through sound.
The title track, “Addicted to Power,” is about the insatiable hunger for control and the devastation it leaves in its wake, a true reflection of the times we are all experiencing right now. “Addicted to Power” marks the third single from NEFARIOUS’s forthcoming album of the same name, following the critically praised tracks “Master Plan” and “One Nation Enslaved” released earlier this spring.
