Monte Luna is an American psychedelic sludge band from Austin Texas formed in 2015 by James Clarke and Phil Hook. The duo is largely influenced by dark and experimental bands such as Neurosis, The Melvins, and Eyehategod.
With punishing riffs and titanic drumming, Monte Luna has been carving a name for themselves since the debut of their EP The Hound (2016) and have shared the stage with Goya, Karma to Burn, Castle, Howling Giant, Yatra, Destroyer of Light, Midmourner, Vaginal Bear Trap, Apostle of Solitude, Rebreather, The Obsessed, Forming the Void, and many more. Monte Luna released their self-titled full length album in the Fall of 2017 to outstanding reviews and followed up with relentless touring including a successful east coast run in 2018.
In December of 2018 Monte Luna signed with Italian label Argonauta Records and have since re-released their self titled debut onto vinyl in Europe and the US. Their next album, Drowners’ Wives, is set to Release October 4, 2019 on Argonauta Records with a European tour to accompany the release (October 25th through November 17th).
