OK, when I first heard the name of this band, I thought that the World famous boxer Floyd “Money” Merryweather and Tony Stark(you know, the guy who is IRON MAN!)got together to form some kind of super athlete/super hero super group…….I know, ha ha how cute BUT in reality MERRYWEATHER STARK is super star combo! Right, they’re not “household” names but both of these guys have been establishing some pretty stellar accomplishments. Both of their Wiki pages go on and on about who they have worked with and the individual accomplishments they both have achieved and it’s pretty damn impressive!

First off, thanks to the fine people at GROOVEYARD RECORDS for supplying us with this album for review. I have to say that this album is really right up my alley! It is straight ahead hard rocking music with a really great groove. You can feel the professionalism of these two, NEIL MERRYWEATHER and JANNE STARK. Neil is the bands vocalist and bass player and Janne is the guitar player. Both of these rockers have deep-rooted history in the music industry, way too much to list here but I suggest looking them up online and checking out their credentials. This album CRAVED IN STONE just came about because of rock n roll fate!

As for the album itself, there is a real cool vibe with these songs. Like I said there is a certain kind of cool groove going on and Janne’s guitar work is top-notch! Merrywetaher’s gritty vocals cut through the grooves to add a real rock n roll element. This is how guitar rock should be. The rhythm section lays down a great groove so vocal melodies and guitar solos can fly over and around them to bring it all together. Perfect example is the song WHAT’S IT GONNA BE – Also, check out IRMA LA DOUCHE, GIVE EM HELL BOY, and FREEDOM TO LOVE  —-
