MEDIEVAL STEEL (Power Metal – USA) – Will release “The Dungeon Tapes” CD/LP/DD out on October 22, 2021 #medievalsteel

It’s no secret that Heavy Metal is way more than just a music. For many it’s a way of life, an alternate world, and a separate culture with its own myths and legends. And MEDIEVAL STEEL is one of those legends. This Memphis, Tennessee based US band was formed in 1982, and two years later released same titled debut EP, to basically disappear for less or more two decades. The story could end here, but it was different this time: the EP became an ultimate, almost sacred classic of the genre, its title track is often labeled as one of the very best Heavy Metal songs ever written, and band’s singer (and founder) Bobby Franklin is known and respected as one of the very best underground Heavy Metal vocalists.

After doing two compilation albums, and playing several shows on legendary Heavy Metal festivals such as Keep It True, MEDIEVAL STEEL returned in 2013 with a new studio album, the “Dark Castle”, which proudly continued their True Heavy Metal legacy. The band didn’t disappear again though: after regrouping, the band worked hard on their new material, and is now ready to strike back with their new album, “Gods Of Steel”. They are here to stay. They are Metal. They are MEDIEVAL STEEL.

“The Dungeon Tapes” is a rare compilation album that was originally released in 2005, and which includes all 4 tracks from the legendary same titled debut EP from 1984, 2 songs from 1987, and 3 songs recorded in 2004, all with a new mastering by the Heavy Metal veteran Bart Gabriel (CIRITH UNGOL, SATAN, SORTILEGE).
