Bio:
Mammothor is an American hard rock band from Boston, Massachusetts. Travis Lowell (Ashes to Embers) fronts the group with powerful and versatile vocals. Lead guitarist Josh Johnson (Stone Dog Zen, Iron Horse Parade) graduated from Berklee and studied with guitar shred legend Joe Stump, while rhythm guitarist Alex Muss sharpened his skills in Belarusian metal band Slave of Insanity. The dynamic and steady bass and drums of Lori Gangi and Euz Azevedo (Das Muerte) round out the band’s eclectic sound.
Mammothor strives to deliver the essence of rock: the thunderous heavy metal riffs and guitar shred of the 80’s, rounded out with the passion and versatility of 90’s alternative. The 2015 Debut, ‘Tyrannicide’ showcased the band’s early blues rock influence. With some changing members and influx of different influences, Mammothor’s second effort, ‘Devotion Lost’ was more fast-paced and with more variance from song to song. In 2017 and 2018, Mammothor toured across the United States, both times starting in Denver, Colorado, supporting headliners Saliva and Hed PE.
After taking a critical look back on the first two albums the band decided to take a longer and more in-depth composition, pre-production, and in studio approach for their third and upcoming album, ‘The Ecstasy of Silence… The Agony of Dreams.’ Mammothor is currently planning to get back to shows in late 2021 and more extensively in 2022.
