October 26, 2024 was a glorious night for fans of old school heavy metal in St Petersburg, FL , as the current KING DIAMOND tour rolled through town. Dubbed the “Saint Lucifer’s Hospital 1920” tour the King was not alone. Opening the show was the amazing band NIGHT DEMON. On the circuit for 10 years now, these guys really know how to rip live and get a crowd on their feet. Amazing energy and great songs. I have been championing these guys for a long time now and their fanbase just keeps growing – GET THERE EARLY and don’t miss their set (IF you’re going, and you should!!!)!!!!!!!!!!! Up next was long time NJ Thrashers OVERKILL. I have seen these guys many times over the years, and it doesn’t matter if they are headlining or an opening band, they always slay the crowd!!! With a great catalog of songs to choose from, they were a perfect fit for this tour. Tye headliner KING DIAMOND put on another clinic ( get it? LOL!) on old school metal and theatrics can mix. King’s unique vocals still pierce through the PA and he consistently has a killer band behind him! With an elaborate stage set up and theatrics thrown in for storytelling, this is a great heavy metal exhibit!!! This tour should not be missed as all 3 bands were in top form — this show comes your way, GO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
