Interview with the band ACID DEATH #aciddeath (interview provided by Angels PR Music Promotion)
Hello guys and thank you for giving us this interview!!
Let’s start by the fact that you have a 30 years history! Who are Acid Death right now and what is the common fact that the members of the band share in order to keep your music alive and fresh!!
Hello and thank you for this presentation! Yes, ACID DEATH’s name has an age of 30 years at the moment and we are so happy for that! Of course the band is younger since we were absent for almost 10 years -from 2001 to 2010- but it seems that this wasn’t bad for us. Even the period that we weren’t active there were many people out there who were searching about us who liked our music and wanted to have the related info on everything. So, the first thing we would like to share with everyone is that ACID DEATH is alive and creating new things day-by-day. We have 3 albums after band’s re-union, we are touring, we are into the entire scene doing thins and we feel really happy for that!
-What do you consider as the biggest moment of this 30 years career in the music industry?
Of course band’s successful re-union in 2011. You know, the most common thing for a band that comes back is just to have some shows, to offer some “satisfaction” to it’s old fans and nothing more… Only few bands have a re-union that includes creating moments. We are happy for being in this category. ACID DEATH had 2 full length albums and 2 Eps from 1989 to 2001 and 3 full length ones from 2011 to 2019! That means we are here for creating things, not just playing some shows!
– If you could turn back in 1989, what would be the number one advice that you would like to give to yourselves ?
Only this! Never Give Up! It was the thing that we didn’t follow those days. If we didn’t stop the band in 2001 things would be much more different today.
– What is the X-Factor and the special ingredient that makes your latest album entitled “Primal Energies” special for you and different from the others?
At first “Primal Energies” is -as everyone says- our best album ever. There are so many elements musical and lyrical. So everyone can find interesting things in this album. We were more than happy to have two personalities who gave their best on this album, we are talking about CORONER’s mastermind, Tommy Vetterli at co-production and CORONER’s sound engineer, Martin Zeller, on mix and mastering process. They gave a killer sound to this album, and their advices were a big school for us.
– What’s the people’s response to it so far?
Perfect! This album has only positive comments to display!
– The music industry has changed a lot the past 30 years. In which aspects this affected you as artists?
Well, things are totally different from 1989… At first everyone can find so many good bands out there but also so many ways to find some good music. The social media helped the entire thing a lot but on the other hand the bands have to spend a lot of time on working on their material. It is not only the “production” thing but the “how can I spread my music” one. So many digital platforms and tools that someone has to spend time to investigate and decide how to work…
– Where do you see yourselves in 5 years from now? Is there a specific goal that you would like to achieve after all this years?
Mmmm…I really don’t know! At least we will be here creating new things. That’s for sure!
– Are there any plans for a live tour abroad?
This season we have a Greek tour celebrating album’s release and the 30 years of the band name. After we will arrange a European tour, hopefully the first half of the new year.
– Thank you so much for your time!! Is there anything that you would like to share with your fans?
Yes, at first thanks again for this presentation, we are here, boys&girls, check us out!
