About the band—
INTERCEPTOR is THE heavy metal band. With the barreling sonic might of traditional metal, black metal, speed metal, thrash metal, power metal, and straight rock ‘n roll, headbangers find their hunger satiated by the old-school, raw, and true sound that the band lives by.
While formed in Charleston, South Carolina on April 1st of 2022, they were the furthest thing from a joke. Pure, raw, total mayhem has always been the principle of the band, and when they played (and headlined) their first show just one year later, they spared absolutely none. Former drummer and longtime member of the local scene, Asher DiBernardo, said the turnout was unlike he had ever seen at the venue. Interceptor has gone on to share stages with other underground household names such as Artillery, Nocturnus, and Nasty Savage.
On June 22nd of 2024, Interceptor made its full length debut with the sonic terror “Tales of Mayhem,” garnering flattering reviews and praise and even some radio play. Within just two weeks the run of cassettes and records on Motorpunk Records were almost sold out and the band passed 10 THOUSAND monthly listeners on spotify alone. The band followed up with a successful supporting mini tour of the Gulf of Mexico, hitting metal beacons such as Tampa and Houston. Based on the success and turnout of these shows, Interceptor was asked to play with Nasty Savage and Nocturnus at SwarmFest in Tampa.
