Immortalizer has released quite the interesting sounding album. By delivering straight up, classic sounding, ‘80s inspired heavy metal, fast paced and fiery, Immortalizer manages to offer his first complete, full-length work to the traditional heavy metal revival movement. Without fancy or experimental approaches, the “Born for Metal” is 49 minutes of solid, sharp edged, heavy metal, exactly what would expect from an album with a title like this one.

Now, you need to know that Immortalizer is a one- man project. Dave, the founder, is nostalgic and a bit of old-school. Inspired by bands like the Saxon, Primal Fear, Judas Priest, Iron Maiden, Dio and Motorhead to name a few, the apple couldn’t have possibly fallen far from the tree. Dave tries to go down the same path, as faithfully as possible, trying not to get too caught up in his influences. And thankfully, this is a successful endeavour through and through.

Traditional sound and new, fresh creative perspective meet in the “Born for Metal”, producing an effective album, with a clear goal and purpose. It is a heavy metal album and an album for the heavy metal, since in its sound the listener can find all those different influences. They are not prominent, but work more like guidelines and they feel as small tributes. Also, in the album appear as guest vocalist the mentor of Immortalizer and singer of the Primal Fear, Ralf Scheepers, in the song “We Were Born For Metal”.

The “Born for Metal” is an album with a clear old-school vibe. Mainly inspired by heavy metal’s golden era, Immortalizer unleashes razor sharp riffs of the same spirit. Fast-paced, fiery and absolutely exciting and fresh sounding with a vintage undertone, the Immortalizer’s debut is guaranteed to satisfy both those who feel nostalgic of the bygones and those who like to watch the sound evolve. The “Born for Metal” is a treat and a really good album, so I would highly recommend you to give it a shot and you will be definitely rewarded for your time.
