HURRICANE ON SATURN – Interview for KICKASS FOREVER via Angels PR Music Promotion #hurricaneonsaturn
Interview conducted and submitted by Marian Nicolaou (thankyou!) via Angels PR Music Promotion
1) Welcome guys! How things are going about Hurricane On Saturn?
Dakm: Hi and thanks for hosting us. Well, things could certainly be better but we are moving forward like a steamroller crushing the innumerable difficulties caused by this shit period.
2) Are you satisfied about the first feedback for your new album “Killing Field”?
Dakm: Yes we are. Up to now the feedback has been really positive and this can only motivate us even more to keep on rolling.
3) After releasing your first album and many singles you show that you are a really promising and unique rock band!. Are there any plans for another full album in the near future?
Dakm: Of course! We’re already working on it and it’s gonna be majestic as hell. We are gonna mix it this summer with the Grammy nominated team Carson Slovak and Grant McFarland in their brand new studio. Be ready for something out of your imagination.
4) How can you describe your sound?
Dakm: I have to be honest on this, we never think about what our sound is like, it’s none of our business. We only focus on creating music that we like or satisfies us. The decision how to label our sound is up to the listeners and for what I see everyone finds something different in it. I think this is good.
5) What are your musical idols?
Dakm: There are some musicians that I respect and I enjoy, but I cannot say I idolize anybody. And no, I won’t name ’em. It would be a boring and inevitably incomplete list.
6) Tell us a few words and special moments about the recordings of your stuff.
Dakm: Every moment was special as it was a struggle, like the way it is now after all. Can you imagine how hard is to record an album during a full lockdown? It’s something words can’t describe and when you finally get it done and published it feels like victory.
7) What is your opinion about the use of internet? Is this helpful about the bands or they are just being lost into a sea of information?
Dakm: I believe the internet it’s a tool and like any tool it can be used for good or for bad. I mean, it could be useful if you use it smartly and don’t rely too much on it otherwise it may turn out to be self defeating. For sure bands can get extra help to bring as many people to hear their music as possible but on the other hand everyone can get up one morning believing he is the rock star of the village. This means that on the internet you find a sea of musical proposals, shit for the most, that cover up the few valid ones. You know, that’s negative not only for the listeners but also for the one who proposes his stuff because he may be misled into believing his music is good and find himself stuck and lost in a gray and colorless sea for years without a clue of the reason. However I believe that in the end quality always pays off and if you are worth something you will not find yourself bogged down in the net.
8) Any live plans for the band?
Dakm: Yes of course, but it doesn’t depend on us. As soon as possible we’re gonna play in every hole of this damn planet.
9) What is your biggest dream about Hurricane On Saturn?
Dakm: To be a band that people recognize themselves in, to be the voice of everyone who can’t speak, to stir emotions in people. That’s what music is supposed to do after all.
10) How did you get started with music? Any special musical studies?
Dakm: I started playing piano when I was a child and I’ve been involved with music ever since.
11) What do you think about the Italian rock and metal scene? Are there any new bands that you love?
Dakm: Simply there’s no metal scene in Italy, but honestly I don’t care, we’re flying far too high to pay attention to this. We’re outsiders, we are outcasts, we have no allies and no, I don’t like any new or old band here. We are walking our path alone.
12) Congrats and good luck about your work, guys! The last words are yours.
Dakm: Thank you man!
Be ready guys, there’s something huge that is taking form, join the Dust Devils Army now! You won’t regret it.
