GUILTERA (Alt Metal – Cyprus 🇨🇾) – Interview for KAF via Angels PR Worldwide Music Promotion #Guiltera #altmetal #bandinterview

“Far Away” marks a new chapter for you. What emotional or conceptual spark triggered the creation of this single?
The theme of the song emerged when our vocalist Vikki visited her hometown after several years of living abroad. As a child, she dreamed of being a rock star, performing on big stages, but her surroundings did not support that dream. Now, 20 years later, she has this chance again and reflects on her journey with nostalgic gratitude. With her dream in sight, nothing will stop her from pursuing it.
Your sound blends heavy riffs with cinematic atmosphere. How do you strike the balance between aggression and melody when composing?
Just as in life, where black and white stripes alternate, emphasizing each other’s contrast, our music blends aggression with melody. It conveys not only our own emotion but also nuances the emotion of the next episode.
Guiltera formed in 2024 after Alex sent Vikki the first demo. Looking back, what convinced you that this collaboration could become a full band?
We were so pleased with the result that we decided to continue, and then everything just fell into place, haha. We quickly found a bassist and drummer who resonated with our music, and within a couple of months, we were confirmed for our first festival. When all the stars align, what could it be but fate?
Your debut album Us reached over 100,000 Spotify streams. How did that response influence the direction of your newer material?
It inspired us to keep doing what we love. While it didn’t significantly influence the direction of our sound—since we’ve taken a different turn with our second album—the support and resonance we’ve felt in people’s hearts is always gratifying and motivates us to keep moving forward.
You draw from progressive, industrial, nu metal and metalcore elements. Which of these genres pushes you creatively the most — and why?
Without a doubt, all of the mentioned genres greatly influence us, but I think metalcore has the most impact, especially with its breakdowns. Seeing people’s reactions at live concerts, with the mosh pits and slams, is exhilarating, and we feel the maximum energy coming from the audience.
Your first single “Ecstasy” hit #2 on Spotify’s New Metal Tracks playlist. Did that early success create pressure, motivation, or both?
It was more of both, as the bar was set high from the start. But the best competition in life is the competition with oneself.
How do the four of you collaborate in the studio? Is there a clear creative leader or does every track go through multiple hands?
Our guitarist Alex is undoubtedly our leader, due to his vast experience and musical knowledge. While each of us adds our own touch to the tracks, it’s fair to say that most of the ideas come from him. Everyone is certainly responsible for their own instrument, but we trust Alex to have the final word.
What has been the biggest lesson during your rapid rise in the modern metal scene?
The most important lesson is that your fate is in your own hands. You shouldn’t rely on others or luck. If someone helps you, accept it with great gratitude.
With the material for your second album already prepared, what evolution should fans expect from Guiltera in the coming months?
We’ve announced several concerts in Cyprus and are planning to record the album at one of the best studios in Sweden. We’re also working on ideas for music videos and preparing to embark on our first tour across European festivals in the summer of 2026
