1. First of all tell us about the story behind your name! Who came up with the idea of it, is there a concept behind  it?

Hello !

First of all we would like to thank you for giving us the chance to open up to you guys and  talk with you about our music.

Everything started in October 2013 when the two friends, Nikos(vocals) and Lefteris(guitar) decided to join their love for music and to create a band, having a big vision.  The idea became reality and the band started its first music steps with the name ‘ Fox Terrier ‘ but after a couple of live perfomances the name  was rebranded and changed to ‘ Grande Fox ‘. The concept behind the name is related to the fact that we wanted something big to reflect us, something that will be perfectly connected with our passion, our mental power and our independence.  Grande Fox for us means big vision, big spirit!  As regard to the animal, the fox. We choose it because we really admire this animal for the mentality and characteristics. It is a very strong animal  that overcomes every difficult path in nature always smart enough to survive among bigger predators. So, we thought about that and we combined these two elements ending up to the final band’s name.

2. Which artists are your main musical inspirations that formed the music of Grande Fox as we know it today?

That is a very controversial question. Everyone has many musical inspirations that are used as tools to form our personal style of rock . We heard people telling us they find lots of similar elements with famous bands like Limp Bizkit, Black Sabbath, NIN, RageAgainstTheMachine or even System Of A Down etc. Yes it is true, we are fans of all of these bands but we don’t  have it as target  to write one style  and only  of music. Of course we are positively affected by them but, we are always trying to add and create something unique. In reality our main influences comes from various situations and memories of our lives especially when it comes to lyrics. These are clearly perceivable on our album ‘Space Nest’ for example. A unique musical route in our  hard rock psychedelic stoner songs in which every recorded track, every verse and every word has its own different story or meaning.

3.Recently you released a video clip about your track “Documento”. Apart from its unique style , is there a specific lyrical concept ? Tell us your best memory during the recordings of it !

Yes there of course there is a concept talking about the harsh reality of today expressing our concern about the route that the world has taken … About Governments that don’t care about their people , about the Elite that has all the power to change the world but…doesn’t , about the pain that we , the simple people feel every day and of how  we , humans,  take steps back and not really moving forward. We are talking about how we loose ourselves and how we are swimming in lies that we accept instead of seeking the truth . We are referring to how we are becoming monsters instead of better humans , we destroy and we hurt others , others animals , our planet , our home. Destruction . Thats the final step . We have to wake up at last!!

Well one of the best memories is when we went at the studio with just an idea and in a few ours it became an explosive track that it has what it takes to be a success . The moment that we realized and said to each other “hey this is the new style” . Documento is the forerunner of what is coming next with the new album “Empty Nest”.

4. Is there a fast way to success in this specific part of music industry ? Do you believe that a band nowadays has the same chances for fame and success as back in 80’s?

There is definitely a faster way to get known and maybe it is through aggressive marketing that you need to have a lot of capital to get into the music industry in order to succeed.  In other case , if you are like us , you need a lot of persistence and hard work , you need to be innovative and stay original so the people like you and accept you for what you do . We still believe that is a long way to the top and we remain focused in what we do and trust we truly believe what we do.  We are new, we are different and we are original, just like bands back in 80’s!

5. How have your fans responded so far to your music and what should they expect next?

Fans’ response means a lot for us. Having people by your side, who love your music, support you in every stage and in every step you take is very important. We can clearly say they enjoy watching us live on stage and they feel our passion for what we do. They receive a lot of energy through our frequencies and vibrations, transmitting us their emotions with an exciting way. However, we know that they expect always more for us. So,  we are here, always working hard and getting ready for the next big step.  STAY TUNED !

6. ‘’Empty Nest’’. What do you consider as your key points in the creation of the album? Is there the complete ‘’canvas’’ of Grande’s Fox musical territory or should we expect something extremely unique and different than this one at your next album?

The most important factors contributed in the creation of the album were mostly two. At first the general situation in Greece is full of misery and of people who can’t stand on their feet because of the economical problems that drives them crazy. That is something that affects us and bothers us very much, seeing all this darkness around you and feel the pain in most the peoples eyes.

And secondly at the same time  we had  internal problems  as a band with the old members and from the other side Nikos went through some difficult situations with his health and Lefteris had his issues too mostly economical. So, as you  can understand all these factors made us want to express our anger and rage with some other mixed emotions we had at that time and you will realize easily if you listen to these songs when the time come with the release of the album.

As regard to the second question, yes, we can say that you will find a big piece of the  ‘’canvas ‘’ of Grande’s Fox music but not completely.  We are five  anxious souls and we always like to pioneer in everything we do. We don’t like stagnation and we enjoy moving forward and create new unique things. You should expect more different creations from us!

7. You have an upcoming live at Berlin – Germany! Tell us a few things about it and what’s coming next? Maybe a European tour?

We couldn’t be happier when our first live abroad is in a country like Germany and in a city like Berlin. We’ve been preparing for this and we will travel in a few days to play in front of rock fans of Germany at one of Berlin’s most historical rock bar, Blackland.

Our next moves, according to our plan include 3 or 4 lives back in Greece until December and Christmas. After that we will work hard, as we always do, because our next LP album ‘Empty Nest ‘ is almost ready and is expected to be released possibly in February. We assure you it is 11 songs with powerful music and lyrics that will fascinate you to the maximum. Along with the new album we will continue to fill our souls and hearts with experiences and lives and… We can’t hide you our desire to continue traveling around the Europe or generally the world, so a European tour seems not something impossible, who knows?

8. Where do you see Grande Fox in 5 years from now ?

Our vision for the next five years includes appearances and selected shows abroad , maybe a tour featuring the new album and of course new music productions as well as visuals as we remain very creative and innovative in Greece for this track.

But, our ultimate goal in general is to reach out to the outside world, gain a loyal audience and play in big festivals worldwide among those we admire from a young age .

9. Would you like to share something with your fans?

Yes we would like to thank our fans for their support. We appreciate it very very much and we would like to say that  they give us energy to keep pushing ourselves more and more to go beyond the limits. Finally we would like to give them an advice. To never stop doing what they love and never stop exploring the impossible, even if people told them they can’t. The future is yours and only you know how far you can reach!!
