GLORIOUS BANKROBBERS (Sleazy Hard Rock – Sweden 🇸🇪 ) – Release “Rock’n’roll Church” Official Music Video – Song is the title track of their upcoming album #Glorious Bankrobbers #sleazerock #hardrock
Glorious Bankrobbers, formed in Stockholm in 1983, have had a tumultuous but resilient career spanning several decades. Their debut album, produced by Kee Marcello (of Easy Action and later Europe), was released in 1984 on Planet Records. However, the band’s initial success was hampered by mismanagement, leading to a temporary break-up.
After regrouping, they released “Dynamite Sex Dose” in 1989, which gained traction with MTV’s “Headbangers Ball.” This success led to tours in Sweden and Norway, supporting major acts like Europe and Yngwie Malmsteen.
In late 1990, the band embarked on a two-week promotional tour in New York City, playing notable venues such as The Cat Club (supporting The Sweet) and the legendary CBGB. Their CBGB performance was later released as a live album.
Despite not securing a major US deal at the time, the band continued to evolve. They reformed as Mental Hippie Blood after their original singer’s departure, releasing two albums under this name.
Glorious Bankrobbers reunited in 2007, releasing “The Glorious Sound of Rock’n’Roll” and touring with acts like Nazareth and The Quireboys. A tragic setback occurred in 2012 with the death of their drummer, “Oden,” leading to another hiatus.
In April 2023, the band made a comeback with the critically acclaimed album “Back On The Road.” Building on this momentum, they quickly began work on their next album, “Rock’n’Roll Church.” This new release, completed in less than a year, was recorded at House of Voodoo in Stockholm and mixed by Robert Pehrsson at Studio Humbucker. It features eleven new songs, ranging from high-energy action rock to a captivating ballad with steel guitar elements.
Throughout their career, Glorious Bankrobbers have demonstrated resilience and a commitment to their rock ‘n’ roll roots, overcoming setbacks and continuing to create music for their fans.
