The  “Cosmic Wave” EP  is the latest release for Gia Federico’s solo instrumental project Gia G and the first since 2019’s The Ladder. Gia G’s second EP is a second musical introduction for the guitarist who ventures into new territories showcasing her fusion abilities and her amazing skills on guitar.

Gia G opens the “Cosmic Wave” with the track of the same name, unveiling her thematic for this record. Elegant, melodic shredding that balances the showmanship with the musicality, a few jazz influences and the interesting addition of the tremolo bar phrases conclude the first track. It sets the pace and the aesthetic for the album.

Second, is the song “Reminiscing” that drops the bpm. A strumming acoustic guitar is added to enrich the rhythmic section, while Gia plays around with more blues oriented licks, coloring her phrases with pitch harmonics.

Third comes the song with the most intriguing guitar work. Constructed around a basic and simple drum beat and a tight bass line the “Intrical Fusion” gives space to Gia G to shine. If you are die-hard fans of shredding, this will definitely become your favorite song. With an approach that reminds of the legendary Steve Vi, Gia G sets fire on the frets with her sweep picking shredding.

Cosmic Wave takes the listener on a journey of musical knowledge and intricate writing that is guarantee to fascinate and get you hooked with the very entertaining and vibrant “Cosmic Wave”.

The EP was released on 25 January 2022, via Sliptrick Records.
