Romantic, dark and fully charged, Fragment Soul build on their emotions and take their first big step. The band from Corfu, Greece comes with their debut which is titled “Axiom Of Choice”.
With a sweet and absolute melancholy, the cinematic sounds of the band highlight through four compositions the absolute darkness, haunting us and mixing the softness with the ultra heavy weight, creating an elegant doom / gothic aura along with the corresponding influences.
From the beginning, they dive deep into issues of soul, metaphysics and emotions; the debut of the Greek band is addressed face to face to our soul, while the grit of music harmonizes perfectly with the calm of the vocals, spreading to all directions the cloudiness and the rain brought by the music.
In addition to the members of the band, its informal member, Heike Langhans contributes to this, who with her ethereal color gives something of herself and, of course, the style of Draconian.
Egan O Rourke from Daylight Dies also helps with this, giving something more eerie in a beautiful and elaborate way. In fact, the musical side of the Greeks, without a second thought, unites Anathema with Katatonia, and not without reason, since it is in line with the atmosphere that the album wants to bring, being out of sadness and pain.
Fragment Soul walk on a path full of thorns, without experimentation or innovation, but with the rich emotion it evokes.
This awesome combination of light and darkness foretells something very big and makes this album relative to the big Scandinavian scene, while also showing that Greece has nothing to be jealous of, having important artists who can really express what they love.
