When it comes to songwriting, our vocalist Mike Stark begins with vivid imagery, representing scenes and moments from his imagination that he later translates into lyrics.
From this creative process, the song “Sirens of Death” was born. It tells the story of a group of young sailors on an epic journey in search of fortune and fame, unaware that they would encounter alluring Sirens at sea. This narrative weaves tales of false promises and hidden dangers, allowing listeners to uncover different thoughts and meanings. Music and art resonate uniquely with each individual, so we invite you to close your eyes, embark on this journey with us, and let it transport you to a realm of your choosing.
Originally written by Thilo Herrmann, we collaborated closely with David Shankle to refine the song’s structure and shape the vocals for Mike. Diana Boncheva contributed a beautiful violin section that adds a hypnotic quality, capturing the sense of temptation we, as humans, often face.
Additionally, we created a music video for this song, filmed in Germany, Argentina, and South Korea, where we appear as sailors and Sirens, further bringing the theme to life.
