The Electrified are introduced to the scene with a great, exciting record. The “My World On Fire” is one of the most entertaining rock albums that I have listened so far in 2022. If you were looking for a new hard rock album, full of explosive energy, catchy singles and an 80’s feeling then the “My World On Fire” is the one and absolute right album.

In the Electrified’s debut, the songs span from hard rock to heavy metal. The arrangements are mostly made around the lead guitars and the melodic lines of the synths and keyboards, a combination that gives a sharp, hard rock edge to the songs while keeping them, at the same time, melodic and catchy. Shredding solos and hard rock and rock ‘n’ roll riffs infused with a bit of metal, form an album that sets its roots and invests in the 80’s showmanship and tendency for radio hit singles. By having a vintage, lamp-colored sound, the Electrified use the nostalgia to their advantage, offering an album that moves between two different musical eras, combining the 80’ “sex, drugs and rock ‘n’ roll” attitude with the modern production techniques.

The upbeat and vibrant style of the songs is the perfect choice for live performances. Electrified have composed music that is better enjoyed actively during a live, while dancing and singing along. That doesn’t mean the studio version is lacking, but it doesn’t unlock the songs true potential either. So, I only wish that we get a chance to see them live sooner or later, and experience the 80’s revival wave of the “My World On Fire”.

And before we close, l must introduce the band. Electrified is a German-Geek musical project that was founded in 2020 by the guitarists Constantine Markou and Anthimos Manti. In May 2022, the band released its debut album, entitled “My World on Fire”, an absolute blast of a record.
