Drowning In Blood is a thrash metal 4-piece from Montreal with epic harmonies, headcrushing riffs and themes of war, freedom, revolution and liberty. Their music displays influence from Metallica, Megadeth, Slayer, Toxic Holocaust, Power Trip, Kreator and Exodus with some hints of Melodic Death Metal.
The band was originally formed of drummer Noah Muller (ex-False Gods), bassist Mathieu Brunet (Tribal Bones, Atomic Threat), and lead guitarist/singer Christophe Michaud (Grimhold). After a couple of shows, the band decided to get a second guitarist in order to make live performances more complete and they hired Justin Boisvert (Grimhold). After parting ways with Mathieu for personal reasons, the band hired Nicolas Tremblay (ex-False Gods, Eons Of Serenity) as new bassist.
The band released its debut EP Crush The Weak at the end of 2021 and slowly made their way through the local scene before releasing their single Resist, Revolt! in 2022. Their latest album “You’ve Won… But At What Cost?” has been released on August 9th.

This album is about the rise and fall of a revolution: the violence, the glory and the aftermath. History books often portray revolutions as this glorious uprising, but a lot of aspects of this revolt are mostly overlooked. For example, the title track paints a picture of the social traumas of the aftermath, when you finally became victorious, but your city lies in ruins and your people are dead. Hence, ”You’ve Won… But At What Cost?”
