DREAMARCHER – “Black Water” (single) released via Indie Recordings on August 30, 2019 #dreamarcher
Dreamarcher is a blackened progressive metal gem. This single is the second from the coming album “The Bond”, due Sep 27.
Local inspiration and international sound meet in Dreamarcher’s dark and beautiful post-metal. The band about the single: “Black Water is a song about the late Albert Petersson, developer of the Alby-furnace and director of the first factory in Odda, Norway. He was loved among the locals and known as a very kind man that wanted only the best for his workers and the local community.
In 1914, during the start of WWI he left Odda on a boat to discuss an unknown matter with his superiors in England. When the boat arrived in Bergen the next day, he was no where to be seen. We know little about why and how he disappeared, but there are many different theories. Black Water plays with some of these theories, and the title states one of the only certain facts we know about Albert Petersson’s disappearance; his resting place is somewhere in the black waters of the Hardanger fjord.”
About the music:
With their extensive collective of melodic and screaming vocals, and their mixture of hard-hitting darkness and dreamy ambience, they skilfully balance the abrasive with beauty and sensitivity. They blend the romanticized, dreamy, ambient and beautiful with the dark, industrial, concrete and hideous. Inspired by their hometown Odda, their music, artwork and lyrics reflects a small industrial town surrounded by majestic nature, fjords and glaciers.
