If you don’t know about this band, the time has come for you to check them out!!! DIEMONDS is a kick ass band from Canada, and their self titled album is their 3rd. DIEMONDS combines  a lot of influences and puts out some real quality hard rock music, fueled with energy and passion. You can really tell they are into what they do, and if you get to see them in concert, you will have fun! This band is another one of those bands that I have been into for a while and want more people to know about, and it is bands like DIEMONDS that made me want to start KICK ASS FOREVER, to spread the word as best I could. Now, onto the album —

I am sure when you read reviews about this album, most people are going to use the phrase “the band sounds like they’ve matured on this album”……..I would rather say the band has progressed. Progressed into better players, singers and song writers. I love the first 2 albums, but this one has a slightly different sound and feel to it. Don’t get the wrong idea, the rock n roll energy is still there but there is better production, better use of what they do best. The songs are filled with hooks and catchy melodies, but there is also some really tight playing and crafty song writing. The opening tune OUR SONG is a perfect example of what’s to come. Great dynamics in the playing, very tight sections. Also really good vocals from PRIYA PANDA, who always sounds great! But you can tell the band, CC DIEMOND, DANIEL DEKAY, TYRONE BUCCIONE and AIDEN TRANQUADA are really gelling and sound so tight here, great execution – songs like WAITING FOR SOMETHING, I MISS and SHOULDA LISTENED TO YA really show off their playing chops. Again, the songs have dynamics that are played really tight, and shouldn’t go un noticed.

I really enjoyed songs like BURN IT DOWN, OUR SONG, HOW LONG, MADE IT  THROUGH and WARRIOR. HOW LONG is just a flat-out kick ass, bang your head against the rocker!!!! I’d love to hear that one live. This is a REALLY solid album. I hope this is the album that helps the band gain a bigger following. If you like hard rock with no filler, great playing and vocals, you need to check this band out! Their use of hooks and vocal harmonies and melodies shines through on this album. Well crafted songs with lots of hooks, you can’t go wrong. Get this album, then go get their other 2 albums!!!! SEE THE  BAND live if you can! I did and they totally kicked ass. I can’t say enough good things about DIEMONDS, hope you all feel the same way after you check them out.
