Building on the foundations set by their previous 2019-album, “Unseen Planets, Deadly Spheres”, September 15, 2023 will see DAMNATION’S HAMMER release their much-awaited, forthcoming magnum opus titled “Into The Silent Nebula“!

On their third album, DAMNATION’S HAMMER unleashes eight songs of relentless heavy metal, incorporating the band’s trademark doom-laden groove. Once again produced by Mark Mynett, “Into The Silent Nebula” will feature guest appearances from Rotting Christ’s Sakis, Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride and Fenriz from Darkthrone!

The opening salvo of “Sutter Cane” and “Do Not Disturb The Watchmaker” are a riff-laden feast, the former almost chaotic in feel and featuring a brief spoken word part by Aaron Stainthorpe of My Dying Bride! Then “Do Not Disturb The Watchmaker” kicks in with its serpentine groove before descending into a thrashing chorus.

The album still retains the huge riffs that DAMNATION’S HAMMER is known for, however “Into The Silent Nebula” is more adventurous than its predecessor, for example the companion to the title track – simply called “The Silent Nebula” – is an atmospheric, bluesy instrumental, laid back but still with an ominous feeling. The track closes with a lazy, melodic bass-line whilst Sakis from Rotting Christ quotes from the album’s title track.

Elsewhere on the opus, “The Hex IV” is a soundscape created by blending the organic sounds of the planets in our solar system with the “in utero” heartbeat of vocalist Tim’s daughter.

The centerpiece of the album however is “Outpost 31”, an epic 8-minutes-long track based on the classic 1982 horror film “The Thing”. Fenriz from Darkthrone “stars” as the voice of the Norwegian helicopter pilot on this song! It opens with a clean section complete with the Norwegian’s frantic warning before a tense, driving riff kicks in. “Outpost 31” will be complimented by an animated video of the movie!
