BULLET is a band from Sweden, and if you haven’t heard them yet, it’s time to check them out! This is a band that has been kicking ass for quite a while now, their first demo was recorded in 2002. DUST TO GOLD is their 6th album, and the band is in top form! This is old school, this is heavy, this is Judas Priest meets Accept – this is METAL! Riff after riff, short songs with no filler anywhere in sight, this is real metal! Upon first listen, you might think that lead vocalist Hell Hofer is a son of Accept vocalist Udo Dirkschneider! His growling type of vocals just cut through these songs for the full metal effect. There is a lot of dual guitar attack to from Hampus Klang and Alex Lybro. Can’t leave out the tight  playing of bassist Gustav Hector, and drummer Gustav Hjortso.

You can’t help but hear the undeniable old school influences in the song writing here. Songs like SPEED ATTACK and FOREVER RISE harken the sounds of a heavier JUDAS PRIEST. Also, it’s not just Hofer’s vocals that sound like ACCEPT, but also tunes like AIN’T ENOUGH, ROGUE SOLDIER and HOLLOW GROUNDS – all bring back memories of Accept’s RESTLESS AND WILD album for me. Although BULLET is not a “new” band, they might be new to you, the reader. They have been around a while and have yet to release a bad album, this is really good old school sounding metal my friends. This isn’t pretty or slick, this is down and dirty heavy metal the way it was supposed to be played! I can only hope that one day they make it to the USA so I can see them live.
