BLACKBIRD SONS – classic Hard Rock band from Finland to release a new album “Dance With The Devil” on November, 13, 2020 #blackbirdsons

‘Dance with the Devil’ is the first full length album by Blackbird Sons. The album was self-recorded and produced by the band from March 2020 to May 2020. Musically ‘Dance with the Devil’ combines different styles of rock n’ roll all the way from country rock to more modern style hard rock. The first two singles (‘You Really Got It’ and ‘Cross the Line’) have received positive feedback from radio hosts in Europe and North America.

Bio:
Guitarist Niko Hämäläinen had a passion to write songs and play rock n’ roll with a band. In 2009 he was playing in a cover band and met bassist Lauri Aaltonen. Hämäläinen had a conversation with him and told that playing cover songs was not what he wanted to do. Soon after that the duo left the band and began to write their own songs. In 2011 they gathered their first original band and it was named Rogers’ Moore. They recorded two EPs and did a bunch of shows with two different singers, but in the summer of 2016, Hämäläinen and Aaltonen quit the band due to musical differences. The duo decided to build it all up again in the fall of 2016. They wrote five songs and called up drummer Tatu Lankinen and guitarist Riku Kananoja whom they had been playing with in Rogers’ Moore. In the first session together, they knew they had something special. This was the beginning of Blackbird Sons.

After spending the winter of 2017 writing and creating ideas, they thought it was a good time to record their first EP before doing any shows. They decided to do the recording and mixing by themselves. The whole process of mixing was quite new for the band, so it took a little longer than they had planned. The EP ‘Back In The Game’ was self-released 1st October 2017 and soon after that the band was ready to head out and play live shows.

In the summer of 2018, Blackbird Sons began to write new songs and they independently released their second EP ‘Rock n’ Roll Ain’t Dead’ on May 24th, 2019. Again, they produced, recorded and did the mixing by themselves. The EP caught the attention of independent radio hosts around the world, this helped them to gain more followers and more opportunities to play live shows.

After playing many shows and building up their fan-base, Blackbird Sons recorded a single just to keep things rolling. This one off single, titled ‘Top Of The World’, was self-released on September 6th, 2019 and brought the band into view of a wider audience.

For 2019 and the beginning of 2020, Blackbird Sons played a lot of live shows in Finland and Estonia to spread the word that rock n’ roll ain’t dead. Then the covid-19 pandemic stopped the live shows from happening and the band realized it was a good time to start recording their first full-length album. Blackbird Sons recorded the album by themselves in their rehearsal place in Espoo. The band spent long days and nights in the studio putting together what would become their 1st album and their most diverse record yet. Finally on November 13th, 2020, ‘Dance with the Devil’ was released.

Currently, the album is receiving positive reviews around Europe and Blackbird Sons is ready to take the stages again and bringing the joy of rock n’ roll for everyone.
