BLACK STONE CHERRY – concert review (includes videos filmed by KAF/John Erigo) – live at The Stockyard in Holiday, FL on November 15, 2019 #blackstonecherry

BLACK STONE CHERRY is one of my favorite bands of the “newer” bands I listen to – being from the 70’s a band that has been around for 15 years or so is still “new” LOL! I have seen them a bunch of times before and I was shocked to learn they were rolling into Holiday, FL which is literally right down the road from me (a 10 minute drive). So this is a co-headlining tour and since the venue, THE STOCKYARD, is more of a “Country Music” venue, BSC went on first (of the 2 co-headliners). Let me tell you something, if I was in a band I would not want to follow these guys onstage! The pure rock n roll energy they deliver is 100% infectious. All 4 members of the band giving it their all, every night, every song. I love it! It doesn’t hurt that they are very nice people too. Wait, nice people in rock n roll? Yes Sir!!!!

The Southern Fried Rockers are a testament to ” You can take the boy out of the South, but you can’t take the South out of the boy”. No doubt about it, you can tell they’re from Kentucky – Southern hospitality and appeal but it’s all wrapped up in a rock n roll band at its core. Like I said in my review of their last album KENTUCKY here in the KAF pages, these guys are the 21st Century Lynyrd Skynyrd but much more rockin’!

BLACK STONE CHERRY ripped through their set playing songs from all eras of their career. Opening with “BURNIN’ ” you knew the rock n roll party was ON! The band also played their newest release, an official theme song for PBR (professional Bull Riders) called “BE COWBOY”.  Other stand out tunes were BLIND MAN, CHEAPER TO DRINK ALONE, MARY JANE, LONELY TRAIN, and WHITE TRASH MILLIONAIRE. This band MUST be seen live, they are so much fun and the energy level is off the charts! I can only hope I get to see them again soon!
