BLACK MOOD – their album “Toxic Hippies II” is out now via Black Sunset/MDD #blackmood
A stormy day in 2007 marks the founding date of this band, which was started by brothers Sleazy and Izz. Their 2009 self-titled debut showcased what they were able to find in their musical home with an explosive mixture of Pantera, Down and Crowbar, and soon cemented it with a following EP and another album (Squarlid Garden, 2016), which drew the attention of the press, promoters and a steadily growing following community.
“Toxic Hippies II” is a much rougher and more uncouth album than its 2016 predecessor, without abandoning its musical path. With a playing time of just 21 minutes, these 7 tracks hardly reach album status, but they are so full of energy that one can hardly withstand this raw, unbridled wildness one minute longer.
With “Toxic Hippies II”, Black Mood presents their fifth release, and the – not only by name – successor of their 2012 EP “Toxic Hippies”, which was once again recorded and produced at the Desert Inn Studio (Lay Down Rotten, Milking The Goatmachine, etc.). The appearance of this energy-sapping bastard is rounded off by a noble Digipak with artwork by drummer Izz.
