“The World Conspires” is the fifth album and at the same time the beginning of a new phase in the musical development of BIRDEATSBABY, touching the spheres of modern Prog Metal for the first time. Reaching into these new avenues of musical inspiration, the English band fuse their genre of Dark Cabaret with harder progressive sounds without neglecting their roots. Open-minded music fans with a preference for bands and artists such as Anathema, Tool, Nick Cave or Muse should note the 18th of October 2019, when the new masterpiece, produced by the legendary John Fryer (Depeche Mode, Nine Inch Nails, HIM) and mastered by Bob Macchiochi (Shades, Baby Grande, Space Jesus) in the Black Needle Noise Emporium Studio in Los Angeles, will be released via Dr. Music Records. During their studies, the flame-haired BIRDEATSBABY vocalist Mishkin Fitzgerald and guitarist Garry Mitchell met and decided to start a thriving musical partnership with a mutual love of dark and progressive music. After a few line-up changes the band has now been completed with Anna Mylee on drums and Hana Maria on violin, cello and harp. Starting out in the Punk Cabaret scene, the sound progressed into an atmospheric, melancholic Prog Rock with Steampunk fragments, which excites with classical orchestral layers, bold guitars and intricate arrangements. The four musicians can always rely on the support of their cult-like worldwide fan community, aptly called ‘The Flock’. When they met while studying at the University of Brighton, flaming-haired BIRDEATSBABY singer Mishkin Fitzgerald and guitarist Garry Mitchell formed a thriving musical partnership with a shared love of dark, progressive music. After a few line-up changes, the band completed with Anna Mylee on drums and Hana Maria on violin, cello and harp. Starting in the punk cabaret scene, the sound evolved into an atmospheric, melancholic prog rock with steampunk fragments that thrilled with classical orchestral elements, daring guitars and intricate arrangements. The band has successfully funded each of their publications on crowdfunding campaigns with its cult-like global fan base, aptly called ‘The Flock’. In addition there were support slots with The Courtesans and the German Gothic Icons ASP as well as hundreds of concerts in Great Britain, Europe, USA and also Mexico. With their new studio album “The World Conspires” BIRDEATSBABY have returned with a soundtrack for the soulful, insistent, riotous homage of life in all its facets. The album takes the listener on a roller coaster ride full of dramatic emotions and emotional conflicts. From the rich, orchestral and fragile-looking album opener “Hold Your Breath,” a mantra for anyone who has undergone a trauma, it continues with the mystical “painkiller” and the theme song and its luscious ode to love with “Lady Gray.” “That walks through the shadows in an elegiac way, before the musicians use “How Do I” to slow down and let Mishkin’s soulful vocals hover over soft piano sounds, accompanied by strings. About the tragic “Box Of Razorblades”, it goes on atmospheric until the last act is initiated with the extraordinary “Dido’s Lament” and brilliant guest vocals by Feline Lang (Feline & Strange). With “Kill No One”, the punk attitude of earlier days flashes again, before the last curtain falls with the spherical “Look Away”.

The BIRDEATSBABY album “The World Conspires”, whose artful cover was created by illustrator Jack Flamel, will once again draw new disciples into the circle of their fan-caste, because this musical highlight can definitely be friends of sophisticated progressive rock music with a penchant for melancholy and bittersweet romance do not resist.
