Turn The Tide is a collection of the finest and most precious songs by Åskväder, hailing from the stormy shores of the city of Gothenburg. The EP is a connection between the second effort Fenix and the upcoming difficult third album (which will be recorded early 2024) and the band did this stunt due to the fact that they really had no intention of taking a hiatus.
The songwriting process of Åskväder really is like an unstoppable avalanche so when a couple of golden eggs appeared that also worked out pretty good in live environments the idea of an EP was a fact rather than a question.
.
On the EP Åskväder mix a punkish touch on tracks like Misfortune, Action Rock? and Cyclops with a more fine tuned approach on Turn The Tide and Don’t Worry. The lyrics are contemporary and handles, from a personal point of view, both a macro- and a micro perspective on life in a superficial though deep sense. The everyday life and the horrors that surround us. The music itself? These are some of the best songs ever written by the band and they are really looking forward to releasing their third album!
