“GYPSY WAYS” released with Norio Morikawa [vo] in 1988 and the subsequent “HUNTING TIME” in 1989 are monumental works that made a great musical leap. ANTHEM performed an “album complete reproduction live” in 2018 and 2019 to commemorate their 30th anniversary. The video work released this time is a combination of the two performances.
The complete reproduction of “GYPSY WAYS” was held on July 7, 2018 as part 1 of a special event called “WORST HABITS DIE HARD” at Kawasaki Club Città. Allied Chris Tsangrides (RIP) who produced “GYPSY WAYS” and “HUNTING TIME” died on January 6, the same year, and the complete reproduction of “GYPSY WAYS” also served as a memorial event for Chris. This performance is played by Takamasa Ouchi “MAD”, the original drummer who played on the album. By the way, the second part of the day is “All Request Live” by current members. And on July 8th, ANTHEM-sponsored metal festival “HEADSTRONG FES.18” was held at Club Città. In addition to ANTHEM, “Ultimate Cover Band” led by Naoto Shibata [b] THE MAN and SABBRABELLS, LOVEBITES appeared.
On August 3, 2019, “HUNTING TIME 30th Anniversary Live” was held at Mynavi BLITZ Akasaka. In this performance, “HUNTING TIME” was completely reproduced in Part 1, and the second part was based on the concept of “Yoshio Morikawa vs Eizo Sakamoto”. Live to sing and exchange. The full reproduction of “HUNTING TIME” is dedicated to Chris Tangardis as well as the full reproduction of “GYPSY WAYS” from the previous year. Since the keyboard played an important role in this album, YUHKI [key] from GALNERYUS participated in full . The original drummer, MAD Ouchi, plays with the main four songs, and when he plays “Are You Ready”, which was recorded at that time and finally departed from the album, Ouchi is Isamu Tamaru Participates in the form of a double drum with [ds].
“GYPSY WAYS” and “HUNTING TIME” are completely reproduced because of the current ANTHEM that Morikawa returned to in 2014 and reached a new dimension. This is a must-have item for all fans.
