ANTHEM released their original album “CRIMSON & JET BLACK” with all English lyrics worldwide on April 21, 2023. When this work, which was thoroughly focused on “heavy metal”, was completed, leader Naoto Shibata said he felt a solid response that was different from any of his past albums. The fact that Shibata perfectly recreated “CRIMSON & JET BLACK” at 3 locations out of 11 performances during the “CRIMSON & JET BLACK TOUR 2023″ held from May to June is an expression of his confidence in this work. right. I witnessed a complete reproduction at Saitama Shintoshin, and I was convinced that “CRIMSON & JET BLACK” is an album that deserves to be completely recreated. It can be said that the essence of this work has become clear through the complete reproduction in the live performance.

Shibata started writing songs for this album on September 18, 2020. Although recording began in January 2021, Shibata decided that the current song was not good enough and stopped work. He started writing songs again and started recording a year later, but Shibata decided to postpone it again, saying, “I’m not sure yet,” and it wasn’t until 2022 that he finally had a song he was satisfied with and started recording. July. After finishing the work, Shibata said that he felt intuitively, “After the spring tour, we should do another tour for this album.”

Following that intuition, the tour “CRIMSON & JET BLACK Re-ATTACK” was held from September to November 2023, and concluded with two performances in Yokohama with Graham Bonnet. In 2020, ANTHEM announced that Graham would be participating in the final of their 35th anniversary tour, but the tour was postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic. They were not allowed to invite Graham from overseas for the following year’s “35+” tour. At the “Re-ATTACK” tour final, his wish finally came true.

The video work to be released this time combines the final Zepp Shinjuku performance of “CRIMSON & JET BLACK TOUR 2023” and a complete reproduction of “CRIMSON & JET BLACK” at Saitama Shintoshin. The “1150” in the title “GLORY DAYS 1150″ comes from the fact that it took 1,150 days from the time they started writing the song until the final tour with Graham. “A man who never allows himself to compromise” Naoto Shibata’s 1,150 days of struggle and his glorious achievements are condensed here.
