With the promotion of previous album “Hollow Motion” prematurely interrupted by the Covid-19 crisis, the five members of the band are turning the page with “Ascension to Downfall,” with the firm intention of surpassing the success of their previous opus.

Abstract Rapture took the time to work on and refine their sound to make it as organic as possible. The 10 tracks are a direct reflection of this, with their dynamics and depth, more fluid and sophisticated arrangements, more intense and captivating melodies, and also their otherworldly solos. The whole thing is carried by vocal lines that are both aggressive and melodic, leaving no doubt as to the band’s signature sound. Each composition has been polished to perfection, and the final recording, enhanced by Patrick Damiani at Tidal Wave Studio in Karlsdorf, Germany, gives the release its unique texture. Without a doubt, Abstract Rapture’s best album to date.

 

 

Abstract Rapture is a Luxembourg-based metal band formed in 2001, blending influences from 90s thrash, groove, and death metal. They began performing live in 2002 and released their first demo, “Asphyxiation,” in 2003. Their 2005 EP, “Dead End Entry,” earned them regional acclaim, and in 2007, they finished third in the international finals of the Wacken Metal Battle.

Building on this success, the band signed with Maddening Media and released their first album, “Democadencia,” in 2008. The band subsequently performed numerous regional and European shows, sharing the stage with heavyweights such as Korn, Behemoth, and Soulfly. Their second album, “Earthcrush,” was released in 2011, but changes in the band’s line-up led to a brief hiatus. In 2018, the band released their third album, “Hollow Motion,” followed by concerts across Europe.

Despite the pandemic disrupting their mini-tour in 2020, Abstract Rapture focused on new material, resulting in their fourth album, “Ascension to Downfall,” released on October 18, 2025. Recorded at Tidalwave Studio with producer Patrick Damiani, it perfectly reflects the band’s evolution and maturity.
